For those who still having trouble to align a prim, it’s this weeks tip :)
1. Edit the prim (be sure Use Grid is selected as option)
2. Press your CTRL key
3. Click and hold the button on one of the axiles (red, green or blue circle)
4. Drag your cursor while still holding the mousebutton to the outer circle (with Up, Down, South and North on it)
5. As you notice the prim quickly aligns using the grid

I have attached an image allowing you to see these steps.

This amazing build was in the sandbox today, and it is amazing to see in motion! I had a brief time to talk to Maklin Deckard today while he was packaging this up. The gears are all sculpties, and all mesh, the planets rotate at proportional speeds to each other. It is simply amazing to see in motion. There are pictures on the Fermi Designs web site. Once there if you mouse over the sandbox menu you will see cool builds, click on that for pictures.

Was the message on my IM from VirtualVictoria Vale, such a sad sight when you see words like that. I'm really at a loss of what to say, she always had time for me, answered my questions, we use her tutorials in fermi sandbox. She will be hugely missed by many, but by none more than her loved ones in RL.

Today Day Oh released new mega prims. These are not the cut and hacked ones, they are newly created! The first set the .5 series is perfect for those parcel sized builds like in Fermi Sandbox. This is huge, and was first reported by Lillie Yifu.

We moved to our recently donated sim! It has been a hectic week with my RL work taking up about 60 hours, and my partner in the middle of an RL move and offline. But it is open, with shops, and ready for business. There is of course work to be done to finish it up, but that can happen at any time. I want to thank all the sandbox managers, and everyone else who has donated, helped, and everything else. I will post a bit more this weekend.

Visit Fermi Sandbox

I’ll begin this at the end, Thanks Steffen, you are amazing!

Late last month one of our sandbox builders approached Kai (Eldirch, my partner) and asked if we were interested in a free sim … of course we were. Our first thought is I wonder what this will cost us, not that we are cynical; it’s just that we are cynical, and nothing is ever free. Steffen invited us to his sim, this wasn’t a run of the mill sim with a common build. It was a work of art! It was a sim of caves, and tunnels, shops, wildlife and beauty. We asked several times if he was sure, we felt bad knowing that we would flatten it out and put up some shops for rent and a big flat space for the sandbox.

Here we are, about 15 days later, we put the tickets in to get the sim transferred this morning (4/12/08). He sold the land to me for 0L and added me to the estate manger list so I could get working. Just like a dream, Fermi sandbox has grown from that very first little plot of 1536m back in 2006 to this amazing full sim! When asked why, he said “I like building in your sandbox, and wanted to help”.

All I have left really to say is that I hope you come and visit the new Fermi sandbox, and if you ever run across Steffen Menjou, thank him for me!
