I'll Be on "Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe" Tonight!

Tonight at 6pm SL time I have the honor of being a guest on "Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe".  It is a half hour show with three guests a night.  Or as there notecards say "Tonight Live is second Life's highest rated TV Show. It is a Second Life TV Talk Show filmed live in Second Life every Sunday at 6pm slt in front of a live audience of about 60 people in the Second Life studio and broadcast through the web on SLCN.TV and in world on screens and on itunes as a vodcast." It's set up pretty much like any late night show you would see on network television. I'll just be talking about land basics for about 10 mins.  And since I'm not very good with voice, you'll probably catch me mumbling or freezing a bit.  Tongue out   The fact that the shows have 200 live viewers and averages 6000 downloads a week does make me a bit nervous, but I'll do my best.  If anyone is interested in watching live you can be part of the live studio audience located at  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Northpoint/206/103/32 The show starts at 6pm sl time and doors open at 5:30.

You can also catch the show afterwards on the SLCN website that can be found at  http://www.slcn.tv/tonight-live-paisley-beebe

I hope to see some of you guys there!

I Need Your Quality Freebies!

I need your QUALITY freebies! I've just done a massive expansion of
freebie paradise and I'm looking for lots of new items to fill it up
with.

What does offering a $0L (I don't do the $1L thing) do for you??
Quality well made items that are given out as freebies can provide
amazing advertisement when packed well with a landmark and note card.
Freebie Paradise gets a traffic rating of 14,000 to 20000 daily. It
helps establish your name and get landmarks out and about. Trust me I
know this well. If you take care of a new player, they will remember
you later in there SL.
Offering a freebie also helps out the community, and helps give a new
player a good start. Players who have a satisfied start are more likely
to stick around.

My freebie guidelines..

Yes I have rules for offering freebies. I have a theory that freebies
at my place should be quality items, and not the typical "Well it's not
good enough to sell so I'll just throw it at some newbs" type freebies.
Look at the item. If it's not something that you would wear or use
yourself, don't expect a newb to want to either. Plus what ever you
hand out is often a persons first impression of your quality of work
and items.

*Items given to me must have copy and transfer rights. Both the box
they are in, and the items within the box. I redistribute them as no
transfer unless otherwise specified. If you don't not feel comfortable
giving me full rights, I can offer you a group invite and have you
place the item yourself.

*No strictly advertisement items such as basic t-shirts with a club name on them.

*Items need boxed in boxes sized 2.5x2.5x0.2 with no floating text
unless it's a mixed item box. Boxes filled with lots of random items
should be anywhere around 1x1x1 and I just add them to the mixed boxes
area.

Jack Linden Office Hour September 10th 2008. Lot's of Ad Farmers and Lulz!

(Having issues making this blog appear right so I am adding it as an attachment as well)

Sorry it took a day to get to this, but I didn't grab a chat log yesterday.  So Thank You to Timo, Talarus, and Chaos for helping me get it together.  Well if you were not at this one, and your against ad farmers, ad lots, and extortion you probably missed the best office hour ever!! I have never seen so many infamous ad farmers in one area, and I have been in sl over 3 years now.  They were there in response to Jack Lindens latest blog that may possibly put an end to ad farming.  They were there and they were scared!  ROBO marx was  desperately trying to find a loophole he could use to continue his harassment.  He kept asking what the smallest sized parcel he could use was, and if he set items for sale would it be allowed.  Question after question trying to find a new way that he could abuse the community.  I think Dytska Vieria put it best in the official forum thread when she said...

Robo,

By far, you are the best at feeding LL the information they need that
will merit denial of an advertiser's license. keep on feeding them, you
are doing a wonderful job!

The SLCC 2008

Well if your looking for the technical or educational side of the SLCC, you might want to turn around about now.  All your going to get here is me gushing about my personal experiences.  I spent very little time in the convention tracks.  The only one I made an effort to see was the presentation by JR Unknown about dealing land in SL.  I can honestly say that was a well thought out presentation that was fun to watch.  Thats about all I can tell you about the official side of things because thats pretty much all I was part of.

Now onto my version of this years SLCC...

Thursday

I woke up with my husband Steve Thursday morning after 3 hours of sleep to get a shower and head to the airport.  My initial plan was to sleep on the plane, but I was so excited about everything that it didn't happen.  We arrived in tampa at around 10 in the morning and took a cab to the hotel.  Checked in and all that fun stuff.  After we unpacked I realized that I didn't really have anything to do because no events were scheduled for that time.  We decided to go walk around tampa and find lunch.  Walking through the lobby to the door, Flipper spots me and waves us over to the sports bar at the hotel.  He bought us several drinks (something he did for everyone all weekend long).  Got to meet a few cool people at first, but a few drinks later the bar started to slowly fill with more and more SL'ers. A few drinks turned into lunch with tons of SL'ers. It was great start to the weekend.

SLCC Only a Few Days Away!!

Well it's Sunday night which means only 4 days until I hop on a plane headed for Tampa.  I have my outfits lined up, my hotel roomed reserved, and plans in place for my 3 daughters while I'm gone.  I don't have any real reason for this blog entry, I just wanted to share my excitement and see who else would be in town.  Last years SLCC was a great experience for me, and I feel this years will be much better because several more people I am friends with will be attending.  I'll try to get a lot of pictures this year (something I regret not doing last year).  But anyways, hurricane or not I'll be there and hope to see lots of you there as well.  See you in Tampa!

You, Me, and Trent Reznor

You may or may not have noticed but the last month my blogging has slowed down.  The reason being that I have been using most of my daily efforts to promote the Nine inch Nails concert that's taking place this Friday at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.  What does this have to do with Second Life? Well let me explain what I have done, or rather we have done over the last few weeks.

Friday August 15th at 7pm SL time we will be having an amazing party on the Nerdy Sanchez sandbox and sim celebrating everything NINE INCH NAILS!!!!!!!!!
