A few days ago, I was fiddling around and talking to Vint Falken about how I wanted to toss my Zazzle Store in Second Life, just for grins. My main gripe, which I wrote about today, was what I call 'pain-in-neck-blue-dialog-syndrome'. Still, the HTML on a prim (or Quicktime on a prim...) does solve an important part - dynamic web content can be viewed on a prim, even if it isn't interactive. And with a URL loader script, you can toss someone at a Zazzle store of real world stuff that you have designed.

This isn't a get rich quick scheme. I have yet to make $100 with Zazzle, but - I just keep adding stuff, at no cost. They do the printing and packaging. You can even make stuff customizable so that people buying can... do their own thing. So, it costs me nothing to toss up a few new designs now and then. I even might be getting better at it. The way I figure it, you're not supposed to sit on a few creations - you're supposed to keep creating. Well, here's another outlet for people. Go nuts.
Because there are people with talent in Second Life, this can be useful - especially with the new HTML-on-a-prim. You can take a look at how it looks/works here: Rizzo (237,38,87).
It does require that you have control over media in a parcel... and that does leave out most malls that I have seen.
If this generates enough interest, I'll post a serious HOW-TO on this. It really isn't that hard to set up the Second Life side of things - and the pay goes through Zazzle, not Linden Lab.
Pretty simple. Imperfect, but better than where we were a few days ago.
Or, you can just buy stuff others have made. Toss it on your website, blog, or even your MySpace page.
Here's my gallery as an example (and yeah, I *am* getting better):
Maybe Torley should start a gallery...

Of course, it seems Zazzle is doing maintenance today.
Just my luck. :-)
