The Wandering Penguin: Small In Japan

Looks Japanese To MeIt all started on Kuba Island, where the penguin's alter ego was poking around. Suddenly, a bank. Shinjuku bank. No ATM, so not against the rules. For all I know, this is a real bank.

Intriguing. But the sign was all in Japanese. Or it looked like Japanese. It certainly was not anything on this penguin's keyboard. Clicking around, I got teleported to Shinjuku Island. Shinjuku (53,42,22). Guess what?

The sign still looked Japanese to me. Mental note: Second Life geography does not work as a translator. Spread that around thickly with a bit of Duskwood jam.

It seemed like there was nothing for me to do. I saw a large bear. I went up and spoke with it, but just as I did it made a very disturbing noised and lay on its side - a strange object below it. On questioning, it gave me a stream of letters that looked strangely Japanese. And what was below where it sat was smiling. Obviously, I'm missing something. Some bit of Japanese culture, maybe? Maybe Japanese speaking Teddy bears do this as a form of greeting.

There is only one way to solve my ignorance. Wander.

I encountered camping chairs that looked like a shrine to Torley Linden, and a total of 6 people on the island. None seemed to notice the gaijin penguin running around.

So I channel surfed.

And the only thing I really learned here - aside from looking at a lot of cool stuff (it is worth taking a look at)... was that... you get paid for dangerous dancing on wet floors.

And.... No Sushi!!! What's up with that?!
