Share Your Landbot Experiences Via the Land Bot Directory.

Well any one who has known me for more than a day or two knows about my strong feelings against landbots in Second Life. With that said, I'm gonna share this information because I think it's very useful. Yohan Pintens started a blog about his experience as a bot runner, and as part of his blog he created a Landbot Directory. It lists the names of all known landbots, bot runners, and which bot belongs to who. So if you have a situation where your land has wrongfully been sold to a bot, You can quickly see who to contact. It also gives the bot runners known stand on keeping or returning errors and if they charge a fee to do so. Below this listed information it allows anyone to post the experiences that they have had with the bot runner personally, good or bad. Will it help? I think it will, or in Yohans word's "I don't know if it will help any, but I hope to give people an 'outlet' when they have been done wrong."

Good resource.

Its about time someone did this. Simple - I wonder why I didn't think of it. :-)

cooling off the landbots

I think this will help, but only because Linden Lab refuse to exercise their duty of care to their customers, A better solution, which is quite common in real property law, would be a cooling off period.. A popup message 5 minutes later should say that you're selling your land to X for n lindens and require confirmation before the sale registers. It's hard to see how that would be difficult to implement, although no doubt we will be told it's impossible.

Landbots

I was selling my land to a friend who had done some work for me and set the price at 13L, not knowing that copy bots existed I had no fear as no one was in the sim but the two of us and never considered that I should set it so only he could buy it and with in 2 seconds of listing it the land was bought by celene Ballinger. I have sent her a note card as her profile requested but as of this posting I have no response from here or anyone who works for her. I think the word needs to go out so everyone in Second Life knows this can happen to them and the use of Landbots can be banned. I am aware that some people using Landbots will return the property you lost by mistake with no problem but it is an open opportunity for some to take advantage of others mistakes to make themselves profit. That is a sad Idea since SL has always been a place of fun and imagination, not place to worry about someone taking advantage of a small mistake in typing.
