Second Citizen Forums Closing Today.

I logged onto the horrible news from Raymond Figtree, that Second Citizen will be closed by the end of today due to threads being taken to seriously and legal action being taken . The thread announcement posted by the beloved owner operator known only as MOTHER FIC, read as follows..

Goodbye SC

Short notice, but it's better than just seeing the board is closed message suddenly, heh.

SC is going offline, permanently, before the end of the day today. It's finished.

I can't be a part of this anymore, and I can't be the provider for this, either.

You can ask me why, but you probably won't get the answers you're
looking for, or any for that matter, as it's not really up for

a matter of switching hands at this point, it just needs to close.

It's over. And I'm really sorry.

For anyone not familiar with Second Citizen, It was a SL based forum that was a home to a lot of the old time SL'ers, People banned from the general forums, and people like me who loved it for it's freedom that the highly regulated official forums can't offer. It seems that a lot of the regular posters moved to http://www.sluniverse.com/php/.

At least good handfull of the ones I always enjoyed reading, and I think I'm gonna start posting there.

That blows.

I got burned out on forums... years ago... but they are useful places, and from what I heard Second Citizen had a good run. Too bad about the sudden closure, but I saw that happen with other boards over the years for various reasons. It happens.

I'm sure if the community actually wanted to, thought, they could set up boards on a fresh server. That probably won't get rid of the reason why the forums closed, though (whatever that is).
