After a few of my posts, someone started chatting with me in Second Life about Asheron's Call. It struck me.
I hadn't played Asheron's Call in... about 10 years. But stuff about the Darktide Server came up, I remembered camping Extas Lugians with my melee monarch dude, and having vassals driving me nuts with all manner of strange requests. That character plateaued without life/war magic, poor guy - he was a melee specialist without a ranged weapon. Bad choices cropped up, so I started a second fellow. And so it went. Meanwhile, I was boinking people on the Darktide server - doing OK at PK, though the lifestone campers can make it a REAL pain.
Because of all of this, and the fact that the person I talked to said that AC was still going strong, I decided to check out the website. Now, I know, everyone is playing WoW, right? 'Zactly.
After glancing over the page and stuff, I took a look around and lo! There's a Free 14 day trial of Asheron's Call, Throne of Destiny. It's downloading now, and I'll probably fiddle with it tomorrow. It's a 378605KB file which will take a while longer for me to download as I get ready to roll into bed.
I just have to decide at that 14 day period whether I want to stay in or not. It will be interesting to see what, exactly, has changed. Something new to fiddle with for a fortnight, maybe longer. I'll toss up some stuff on it while I'm there, maybe.
Yes, I know, I should be working on the site too, but sometimes I need a break too. :P All work and no play makes Nobody a burnout.
