Asset Recreation.
Technically, aren't objects from inventory (or anywhere) recreated from the meta data every time they are rezzed inworld? It seems the handful of SL copyright infringement settlements consider the meta data the IP; not the physical instance.
With this in mind, you can load your Second Life inventory into OpenSim already using the Second Inventory application (export from SL, import into OpenSim).
