Awhile back, (I can't remember quite how long ago as time in SL gets very evasive, so I'll stick with 'awhile back")  I was visiting with a friend and was looking at her hair, being the compulsive hair shopper that I am.   When I inspected it and tried to view the creator's profile, to my astonishment THAT PERSON DIDN'T EXIST in Second Life.  As she was passing me a folder, my friend confided in me (much to my dismay) the hair was copybotted. I went kind of quiet and changed the subject... to avoid a discussion on morality and content theft.

Later that day in the Y2P office, while handing Ciaran a steaming cup of black Java, I mentioned this to him.  We talked for a bit and agreed the ORIGINAL Content creators should be notified.  Well I am a busy bee lately and hadn't gotten to that point yet.  A few days later, another friend passed me a folder full of  "Blond Hair", as she was a brunette most days I thought "WOW" isn't that sweet.  What I found was more of the same copybotted hair.  NEXT, I was cheer leading for my Virtual Hockey League team the "Sim Crashers" where we have to "prim down" to help with lag, so us cheer leaders use system hair (no prim), when one of the other cheerleaders gave me some low prim hairs.  YESSSSSSS, you got it .... it was part of the same FULL PERM FREEBIE BRAND NAME HAIR!

Now, there are 3 different people that do not know each other (that I am aware of) that all have this copybotted hair.  So today, in a forum group chat, of which both Ciaran and I are members of, the discussion, much to my surprise, is about  free hair at this NAME BRAND STORE...One that if I mentioned it, alot of you would know who I am talking about.  I get the LM to this store and get the FREE HAIR box.  GUESS WHAT!!!!I Now I have 4 copies of the stolen hair!  Why is this stolen hair so  blatantly spattered throughout Second Life with no consequences?

As some of you know, I really enjoy discovering small, new shops that offer quality items.  I came across one a few weeks ago, but have been so busy working on a wedding (which I will share with you later) that I haven't been able to take time to share "Sim-I-Lar" with you.  

I had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Larisa Tylman and Simone Bonham, and learning a bit about what makes them tick and to also compliment them on their work.

Simone and Larisa have been working on the idea of boots for about 8 months.  They wanted to create something different and affordable, as they both love boots, they were astounded by the prices of some of the better quality ones.  They didnt want to be known as just another make of boots, they wanted to be known for quality and totally unique designs. 

Simone is the designer she came up with the idea for Aspide, being an Italian, she has a thing about shoes and boots.  She is a graphic artist and a genius with numerous graphic softwares. Simone has been using photoshop for at least 15 years.

Tonight, Tuesday February 16, 2010, starting at 7PM, SLT, Louis Landon, aka Louis Volare and (yes AND) Zachh Cale will be performing a double header, LIVE, at Lennox Hill and the Project Z Arts Centre.

From 7 till 8, and knowing Louis, it could go on longer he will be performing his new songs such as  SnowStorm, Come to me, or Blue Moon New Years.

You will also get to hear Zachh Cale perform some of his original compositions. You can watch Zachh, on UTube as he performs in SL.

This will be a night to remember for sure.  TWO amazing talents together in SL.  So if you have the time and want a wonderfully amazing evening bring your sweetie and just enjoy yourselves!  Or if you are a solo kinda person....Just go!

Are you looking for work in Sl?  A friend of mine is looking for a booking agent.  Someone who will aggressively find gigs.  My friend, Danny Bowman, aka Shantu Selene, is looking for a person who is serious about booking gigs for him.  This is a paid position.   You would not need to promote or manage.  Just book the gigs.  Preferably someone with some experience and contacts...but that's not required. So, if you need a few extra Lindens, LOVE the live entertainment side of Second Life and all it has to offer.  This MIGHT be for you.

Have you ever wanted to attract someone who thought of you as the "girl next door", or vice versa?  Well, I watched a friend of mine get a makeover...(male) and I thought....wow...what if I got rid of this girl next door look?, would others see me as more than just "one of the guys?" So I found a model...someone who knows what it takes to get a second glance...even in SL...and arranged a time with her to help me do a make over to get rid of my boy, I mean girl next door look!  
First she sent me out to look at skins.....and shapes...now when you are looking for a shape the thing to remember is the face.  Do not worry to much about the rest of the shape.  Its the face that makes the difference.  Most shapes can be bought modifiable, so you can make the other shapely changes to your own specifications.  GET THE DEMO..try it on....wear it for an hour or so.  Now do the same with the skin.  GET THE DEMO....try it on the shape you want....make sure they are what you are looking for.  Wear them together for several hours.  Get comfortable "in your own skin".  <<Those words have never been truer than in SL.   Skins and shapes are very expensive in SL standards.  Make sure it is what you like.  Shop around.  I spent 2 days looking for shapes and skins.  In the end my shape was modified on every level.  Time consuming but worth the time I think.I grew about 13" (from about 5'8" to 6'9") and lost about (how do you estimate weight in sl?) 50lbs.  Another one of those, I didn't know I had 50lbs to lose, situations. { Read more }

That's right folks, today was/is the official team registration day for RFLSL (Relay For Life of Second Life).  The 2010, RFLSL  theme is "Wishing On A Cure". You can register your teams here.  As of this post, there is no inworld registration, but I will keep you updated.

The fund raising campaign begins March 13th so you have plenty of time to choose a co-captain and team members to form your teams before you register.

Please, have your list of team members in front of you BEFORE you register.  Put the bulk of your team members names in during registration, you can add later if you need to, it just gets very hectic to add members to over 100 teams.

Each team registered will be assigned a team mentor and will be contacted at a later date with further information.
